December 3, 2025 Board Meeting

Notes from Unit 254 Board Meeting held at 11:30 December 3 at TBS

In attendance:  Sandy, Lynn, David, Keith and Mary

1.        Financials – No update

2.        Establishment of Bank account – a Joint account has been opened with both Natalia and Sandy at Inbursa. 

3.        Keith Gunn’s email – Keith says that WordPress, the site that is now hosting our site is now charging $400 USD for 2 years for managing it.  It used to be free in the past, and all we had to pay was $120 a year for the GoDaddy site smabridge.com. We decided that $200 a year was just fine for website maintenance. 

We also agreed to reimburse Keith the $400 he paid WordPress for maintenance of our website for the next 2 years. There was some other charge of 50 pesos a month.  Natalia will have to clear that with Keith when she reimburses him for the $400.

4.         Directors’ Compensation – We agreed to raise the number of free plays paid  to Directors to 3 FPs a day for directing immediately as folks are flooding back . 

5.        Lesson Status

Ian is getting 2 -3 people for private lessons.  Dave is getting 2-3 people for beginner lessons and Layne (intermediate lessons) is getting 6-8 people. 

6.         Players not affiliated with Unit 254

Dave did an analysis of Unit affiliation and told us that we already have really good ACBL affiliation for Unit 254 and we all agreed that it is not necessary to mount an effort to exhort more folks to change their affiliation to Unit 254. 

7.         Tournament Update

A.       Mexican Federation Regional – 13-18 January 2026 in Polanco, Mexico City. 

B.       San Miguel Sectional 2/12 – 2/14.  This has been sanctioned, the flyer has been submitted for upload to the ACBL site and Glen will be our Director.

C.      San Miguel Regional 3/17-3/22.  The venue for the Regional, which is managed by Mexico City, will be at the MEX Hotel near MAC Hospital and La Luciernaga.  We share any profit 40/60. Should we consider organizing ride-shares for our players? This will necessitate a Transportation coordinator. 

8.        Annual General Meeting Agenda February 25 – We tabled this for the time being.

9.        Xmas Eve and New Years Eve – We should take a vote the week before Xmas as to whether our folks would like to play on Xmas Eve.  In addition, our annual Xmas Party will be held at TBS on December 17 after the game.  It will be a pot luck and Lynn has already sent out invites. 

10.  Time and Place Next Board Meeting – We suggest January 7.
