All members were present, a quorum achieved.Treasurer Mary Seggerman provided copies of an itemized break down of expenditures and revenue. It was noted that the Bridge Studio’s use of many special games awarding more masterpoints incurs increased ACBL charges. Though sufficient funds are available, the increased costs of doing business requires an increase in table fees.
Pursuit of NGO status is in a stalemate with the current Notario. A search for an alternative Notario is underway.
Thursday games will be discontinued due to dwindling table count. However, the 3rd Thursday every month a special game (team games, mentor games, etc.) is being planned for.
Two potential new board members have been identified. Upon Annual General Meeting approval ( March 26) all board positions will be reviewed for possible realignment during the next board meeting, April 9, 2025.
The 2025 Regional had a loss of approximately $1,200 usd, primarily due to a decrease in table count compared to 2024 and a venue rent increase of 25%. The Tournament Chair requests that the 2026 Regional be planned for by a committee of Mx City and SMA club representatives. Several board members volunteered to search for alternative venues for the 2026 Regional.
The 2025 Sectional (27-29 March) is on track with last minute coordination being conducted by Tournament Chair, Ian Irving, assisted by Director in Charge, Glen Okui.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held Wednesday, 26 March after normal bridge game play. After the AGM, the monthly member’s get together will be held at LA Frontera Restaurant.
The next board meeting is 1130, 9 April 2025 at the Bridge Studio.
